    • Elaborate at least 5 similarities and 5 differences
    • which of the following is your favorite? Why?
Similarities between Machu Picchu and Chichen Itza are both located in the region Latin America and the Caribbean. In addition, similarities between the two are both included in the list of Seven Wonders of the World. On July 7, 2007, Chichen Itza was selected as one of the Seven Wonders of the World as chosen by 100 million people via email and SMS (short message service) held by the Swiss Foundation and In 2007 also Machu Picchu was voted one of the New Seven Wonders of the World in a worldwide Internet poll. Other similarities between these places are it is conquered by the Spanish. In 1221 at Chichen Itza, the rebellion burst. Dominion over the Yucatan moved to Mayapan, until the Spanish conquerors came. Machu Picchu was developed in about 1450, but abandoned a hundred years later, when the Spanish succeeded in conquering the Inka. Moreover, both sites are material Archeological and historic past of society. Because it was historic, it has become a tourist attraction for tourists who wish to learn the history of both communities in the area. Another similarity between Machu Picchu and Chichen Itza are both built using stone shaped like a large brick.

Difference between Chichen Itza and Michu Picchu is the country where they are located. Chichen Itza located in the northern center of the Yucatán Peninsula, in the Municipality of Tinúm, Yucatán state, present-day Mexico and Machu Picchu in the Urubamba Valley in Peru, about 70 km northwest of Cusco. Other than that, the difference between Machu Picchu and Chichen Itza is in terms of built form. Constructions of Machu Picchu are horizontal and separated by walls but the construction of Chichen Itza look like a pyramid. in addition, geographical site between the two buildings is also different. Machu Picchu was built in the highlands and mountainous while Chichen Itza was built in the lowlands and flat. Belief structure also different between these building, every building have their own meaning and reason. Lastly, people who live in both places at the past are different races, customs and beliefs.
My favorite would be the Machu Picchu because it is located on high ground and its location which has natural protection makes it safe from enemy attack. In addition, the breezy air, fresh and comfortable makes this place my favorite.
